American Heritage Girls

American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered non-profit character development youth ministry program for girls ages 5-18, dedicated to its mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. AHG programming focuses on six program emphases: Life Skill Enhancement, Girl leadership, Teamwork, Character Development, Social Development and Spiritual Development .

The cost to join AHG is $26 for national membership, $20 for troop dues, plus the cost of the uniform and badge book.  For families with more than three girls there is a cap on AHG registration at $60.  Several parents also become a registered adult member which is $26. All leaders have taken Protecting God’s Children, have the AHG child safety training.  KEYS and AHG background check.  The cost varies from returning girls depending on if the girls leveled up and/or need a new uniform.  The badge book is bought once and used for the rest of their AHG career.

The Facts for American Heritage Girls in the Catholic Church

A Catholic AHG Troop operates under the auspices and authority of its Chartering Organization (i.e.: parish), molding the ministry according to the Roman Catholic Church teachings & traditions. Catholic AHG Troops are encouraged to celebrate the fullness of the faith, while equipping girls with leadership skills, teamwork, and character development to live their faith. The AHG National Catholic Committee supports existing members who are part of a Catholic AHG Troop, as well as the Catholic AHG members not in a Catholic AHG Troop, ensuring that all Catholic AHG members are growing in their faith.

High School Youth Ministry

Events

Starting August 27th, Teen Connect (TC) nights are every Sunday beginning with the 5:30PM Mass followed by dinner at the old convent.  We will then have a large group presentation based on Matthew Kelly’s Decision Point book followed by small group discussion, ending at 8pm.

4:12  The area youth ministries are all collaborating to have large monthly gatherings for all the youth in the Bloomington/Normal area. These are the 4:12 events. The name refers to Timothy 4:12. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Young Adults

The Young Adults of Epiphany Parish strive to be committed and mature Christians who preach the Gospel with lives of joyful and loving witness in the Bloomington-Normal community. We make space and time in our weekly gatherings to welcome all young adults (18 to 31-ish, single and married, parishioners and visitors) for prayer, fellowship, and discussion. We also sponsor service opportunities to benefit the poor and needy in our community, monthly social gatherings for fellowship, and recreational outings throughout the year.

Our group began in the fall of 2014 with a casual conversation over a pot of stew and a few bottles of wine at the parish rectory. Since then, we’ve served hundreds of dinners and welcomed guests from near and far at our weekly gatherings. We welcome young adults from all walks of life to join in our pursuit of meaning, community and a life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Events:

Connect Groups have started and will continue every other Tuesday from 6:30-8:00pm. At these events, we gather and share a meal together which is then followed by joyful singing, a witness talk, and prayer. These events are held at the old convent/preschool building on the Church property. All are welcome to these events where we will share a meal and grow in our faith together.

Small Groups have begun. We currently have one girls small group meeting. If you are interested in joining the small group or if you are a man and wish to be a part of a small group, please contact us.
